SUMMARY

Under certain conditions when installing Microsoft Access 97 onto a Windows 98 computer, when you try to start Microsoft Access, you may receive the following error message:

Microsoft Access can't start because there is no license for it on this machine.
The AcLicn97.exe file contains a tool that corrects this problem and enables you to run Microsoft Access 97 successfully. For more information about this problem, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

IMPORTANT: The AcLicn97.exe file is intended for computers running Windows 98. It is not intended for computers running Windows 95. Additionally, in order for this tool to work properly, you must have the full version of Microsoft Office 97 Professional or Microsoft Access 97 installed on your computer.
