SUMMARYSQL Server 7.0 Installs OLED DB providers for Microsoft Index Server and Site Server. However, you will not be able to directly use the providers from a consumer such as ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) to perform a query without first installing Index Server or Site Server on the same machine. MORE INFORMATIONAfter installing SQL Server 7.0 with a custom install and Full-text search option, you will see entries for OLED DB providers for Microsoft Index Server and Site Server in OLE DB Data Link dialog box. When using the Microsoft DataLink dialog box, you will find the following new entries:
You will need to install Index Server on the same machine as SQL Server 7.0 to perform distributed queries using Index Server provider. Index Server 2.0 can be installed from NT Option Pack 4.0 Additional query words:
