|
The information in this article applies to:
-
Microsoft Equation Editor, version 2.0
-
Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 6.0
SUMMARY
When you insert an Equation Editor 2.0 object in a Word for the Macintosh
document, Equation Editor does not open a separate application window as it
does in Equation Editor version 1.0; instead, Word's toolbars change to
Equation Editor's toolbars.
This article describes how to restore the separate window functionality
when you use Equation Editor 2.0.
MORE INFORMATION
To make Equation Editor always open in a separate window, use the following
steps:
- Quit Equation Editor if it is running.
- Using a text editor such as TeachText or SimpleText, open the Equation
Editor Preference file, which is located in the Preferences folder.
- Find the [General] section. If this section is missing, add the
following to the end of the file.
[General]
ForceOpen=0
- Change the 0 to 1, so that the entry resembles the following:
[General]
ForceOpen=1
- Save the file.
When you insert an Equation Editor object after making these changes,
Equation Editor will appear in a separate window, and Word's toolbars will
be unchanged.
