SYMPTOMS
When you insert a ClipArt gallery object into a presentation or document,
you may receive the following error message:
Server file or source application cannot be found. Please be
sure that it has not been deleted moved or renamed.
WORKAROUND
Here is a list of steps to follow when troubleshooting this problem (or
other problems with ClipArt Gallery.)
- Ensure that the Shared Code Folder and the Shared Code Manager
are in the System:Extensions folder. Also, if your machine has the
Extensions Manager installed, make sure that the Shared Code Manager
extension is ON in the Extensions Manager.
- Ensure that the Microsoft Folder has not been moved from its
original location during installation. Typically the Microsoft Folder
is installed on the hard drive at the same level as the Microsoft
Office Folder.
- Double-click the ClipArt Gallery application icon in the Microsoft
Folder to reregister this program.
- If, after Step 3, you get the message "Cannot load DLLs," verify that
enough memory is allocated to ClipArt Gallery and that the Shared Code
Manager is enabled:
- Click the ClipArt Gallery icon in the Microsoft folder.
- Click Get Info on the File menu.
- The default preferred size for ClipArt Gallery is 512K. Try
increasing this size.
- Make sure there is not an extension conflict. If the operating system
is 7.5 or you have the Extension Manager utility, turn off all
extensions except for those required by PowerPoint. These are the
Shared Code Manager and the Microsoft OLE Extension.
- In PowerPoint, click Object on the Insert menu and choose ClipArt
Gallery from the list of object types.
- If the above steps do not work, follow these steps:
- Run PowerPoint or Office Setup.
- Remove Clipart Gallery and the ClipArt files.
- If the Artgalry.idx, Artgalry.ini, and Artgalry.thm files remain
in the Microsoft folder, remove them manually.
- Run Office or PowerPoint Setup again and add the Clipart Gallery
and the Clipart files.
