Clip Gallery 5.0 Err Msg: Msvcp60.dll Is Linked to Missing Export Msvcrt.dll

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start Clip Gallery 5.0, you may receive the following error message:

Msvcp60.dll is linked to missing export Msvcrt.dll.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Use the Microsoft Office Detect and Repair Utility

To use the Office Detect and Repair utility:
  1. Insert the Office 2000 Disc 1 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. When you insert the CD-ROM, press and hold down the SHIFT key to prevent Setup from starting automatically.


  2. Quit all Office programs that are running.


  3. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  4. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.


  5. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Office 2000 product where Office 2000 product is the name of the Office product installed on the computer.


  6. Click Repair Office.


  7. Click Repair errors in my Office installation, and then click to select the Restore my shortcuts check box.


  8. Click Finish.


Reinstall Damaged Files

To rename and reinstall files that may be damaged:
  1. Quit all Office programs that are running.


  2. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.


  3. In the Named box, type msvcp60.dll.


  4. In the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.


  5. In the list of found files, right-click the Msvcp60.dll file, and then click Rename.


  6. Type msvcp60.old, and then press ENTER.


  7. Repeat steps three through six for each of the following files:

    • Msvcrtl.dll
    • Msvcrt40.dll
    • Mfc42.dll


  8. Remove Office.

  9. Reinstall Office.
