CG5: Clip Gallery Quits Unexpectedly the First Time You Attempt to Insert Clip Art

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use Clip Gallery 5.0 to insert clip art for the first time, you may receive the following message:

Clip Gallery is now configured to run on your computer.

When you click OK, Clip Gallery quits.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you log on to a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer as a Restricted User.

The first time you use Clip Gallery, the program needs to modify the Windows registry. If you log on to the computer as a Restricted User, you do not have sufficient permissions to modify the registry, so Clip Gallery quits.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Clip Gallery 5.0 for Windows.
