"No Floppy Drives Installed" Error during Paintbrush Setup

ID: Q31954

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Paintbrush for MS-DOS, version 1.0

SUMMARY

When running PBSETUP to install Paintbrush, the error "No Floppy Drives Installed" may appear. This error is caused by a discrepancy between the drives visible to PBSETUP and the switches telling BIOS how many drives are installed.

To install Paintbrush, either reset the switches to indicate how many physical floppy drives are installed, or copy all the files from both the Program and Utilities disks. Then, run PBSETUP on another machine and copy the resulting PAINT.BAT.
