Changing Paintbrush's Appearance to Free Up Memory

SUMMARY

The Paintbrush Version 4.00 display frame and tool box can be displayed in color or in black and white. The default for the Setup program is color; you can manually change a couple of files (shown below) so that the display frame appears in black and white. This frees up 12K of memory for drawing. This frees up memory only in the VGA modes.


MORE INFORMATION

The file PBSYS.OV1 determines the color attributes of the tool box. The file PBRUSH.INI determines the background attribute.

When in the Paintbrush subdirectory, type the following to assure the proper size icons:

COPY SYS12.FNT SYS.FNT
Type the following to change the tool box to black and white:
COPY VGABW.OV1 PBSYS.OV1
Type the following to change the display frame to black and white:
COPY BW.INI PBRUSH.INI
