SUMMARYIf you run the Msetup or Pbsetup program, you may receive the "Packed files corrupted" message even though these Setup programs run correctly on other computers. MORE INFORMATIONWorkaroundsRun COMMAND.COM four times before running the Setup programs. Type exit and press the ENTER key four times after finishing the setup. Each time you run COMMAND.COM, your system reserves 2K of memory. This changes the boundary of the system and avoids using that memory location for the Setup programs. Each time you type exit, your system releases 2K of memory. Another possible workaround if you are running MS-DOS 5.0 is instead of typing "setup," you type "LOADFIX setup" (without the quotation marks), making sure that LOADFIX.COM is in your path (LOADFIX.COM should be in the MS-DOS 5.0 \DOS subdirectory). For more formation on the LOADFIX command, see page 41 of the MS-DOS 5.0 "Microsoft MS-DOS Getting Started" manual, or query on the following words in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: loadfix and packed and file and corrupt Additional query words: 4.00
