You can load the .PCX files included in Microsoft Paintbrush into the Paintbrush program that comes with Microsoft Windows version 3.0. You can then edit these.PCX files in Windows Paintbrush, and import them back into the MS-DOS-based Paintbrush 4.0.

The .PCX file that you are loading should have been created in the same video mode that the Windows Paintbrush was created in. If you are trying to load an image of a different mode, you will get an Unrecoverable Application Error error message.
