ID: Q79282

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Paintbrush for MS-DOS, version 4.0

SUMMARY

The MS Paintbrush 4.0 program packaged with the Microsoft Mouse does not use a file called DEFAULT.INI; instead, it uses a file called PBRUSH.INI for its initialization.

MORE INFORMATION

On page 67 of the "Microsoft Paintbrush User's Guide" for version 4.0, there is a reference to a file called DEFAULT.INI that stores settings. This information is incorrect.

Paintbrush does not create or use a file by this name. The correct name for the file that the Paintbrush setup program (PBSETUP) creates and that Paintbrush uses is PBRUSH.INI. After the Paintbrush Setup program completes, PBRUSH.INI is located in the Paintbrush subdirectory.
