FIX: Arrow Keys Do Not Work with Option Buttons in Frames

SYMPTOMS

Keyboard ARROW keys do not work when trying to navigate between option buttons located on a frame.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in Windows CE Toolkit for Visual Basic 6.0.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Start a new Windows CE Project in Visual Basic 5.0. Form1 is created by default.


  2. Place a frame (Frame1) on Form1.


  3. In Frame1, draw two Option buttons (Option1 and Option2).


  4. Set the Value property of Option1 to True.


  5. Press the F5 key to run the application and note that when you attempt to use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to navigate between the Option buttons in the frame, the keys do not work.
