Cannot Deselect Controls from a Group in Form Designer

SYMPTOMS

The Form Designer (FD.EXE) does not allow you to correctly deselect controls from a group of controls that were selected while pressing the CTRL key.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Standard and Professional Editions of Microsoft Visual Basic for MS-DOS version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

To work around this problem, click on the form to deselect all the controls, and then select the controls you want.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Run the Form Designer. In VBDOS.EXE, from the File menu, choose New Form (ALT, F, F).


  2. Place two labels on Form1 named Label1 and Label2.


  3. While pressing the CTRL key, click on each label. Both labels are now selected as a group.


  4. Click on Label1. Label1 incorrectly remains selected.
