BUG: Out of Memory Error Continues to Appear After Choose OK

SYMPTOMS

It is possible to get an "Out of Memory" error message box that will not go away after you choose the OK button. The error message box continues to reappear and you cannot get out of it.


WORKAROUND

To get out of this error message box and others like it, pressing the SPACEBAR instead of the ENTER key may work. Then you can exit from Microsoft Visual Basic for MS-DOS. If you need to save your work, save it under a different filename as a precaution. You may even want to save it as an ASCII file.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in Microsoft Visual Basic version 1.0 for MS-DOS. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
