SYMPTOMSWhen the Microsoft Visual Basic for MS-DOS environment is in the process of linking a large program together to produce an executable program, you may get a L1023 linker error, "Terminated by user". This error means that you pressed the combination keys Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Break during the linking process, which results in the linker creating a temporary file to disk and possible hang of the system. The hang may even require a cold boot (turning the computer off and then on). WORKAROUNDTo avoid a possible hang of your machine, avoid interrupting the link process. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in Microsoft Visual Basic for MS-DOS version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. Additional query words: VBmsdos BugList1.00 1.00
