SYMPTOMSThe Visual Basic for MS-DOS programming environment does not detect for the presence of Hercules In-Color graphics cards. Therefore, if you run a program from the programming environment (by pressing the F5 key) with this type of card, the forms and the controls on the form are displayed in black and white. Text boxes are especially hard to see because the underline cursor is not displayed in the text box because it becomes white in color. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Standard and Professional Editions of Microsoft Visual Basic version 1.0 for MS-DOS.
