FIX: GPF When Expanding Links in Japanese Visual InterDev

SYMPTOMS

A General Protection Fault occurs when you expand links on a link off of a page name that contains Double Byte Character Set characters. This error occurs in the Japanese version of Visual InterDev 1.0


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This bug has been corrected in Visual Studio 97, Service Pack 1.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open a project in the Japanese version of Visual InterDev.


  2. Right-click an .htm file that has its name containing DBCS characters and choose the Japanese equivalent of "View Links" from the context menu.


  3. Right-click one of the links in the "View Links" dialog box and choose the Japanese equivalent of "Expand Links".



Result: GPF in MSDEV.EXE
