SYMPTOMSIt is possible to check out an entire project and its subprojects, recursively. The project structure can be preserved by using the "Build tree (override working dirs)" option in the Check Out dialog. If, however, one of the subprojects has a working directory set, SourceSafe will look in this working directory when checking in the projects. If the working directory is not the same as the directory structure which was created during the recursive checkout, a "File not Found" error will occur for each file in the subproject. CAUSE
SourceSafe looks in the project's working directory for the files to check
in rather than the check out directory.
RESOLUTION
If you don't know if working directories have been set for subordinate
projects, use the "Override working dirs" option on the Check In dialog.
STATUSThis behavior is by design. This problem was corrected in Visual SourceSafe version 6.0. MORE INFORMATIONSteps to Reproduce Behavior
