SYMPTOMSWhen you log onto Visual SourceSafe using OLE Automation objects, you might get the following error message:
CAUSEWhen you log onto Visual SourceSafe using the VSSDatabase.Open method, you used a password with eight or more characters. RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, use a password that is less than eight characters. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem has been fixed in Visual SourceSafe 6.0 MORE INFORMATIONYou can use a password containing up to 15 characters Visual SourceSafe. However, when you log onto Visual SourceSafe using OLE automation objects, you will receive the error message listed above if the password is eight or more characters.
