BUG: Resizing a Chart's Event List Window Removes the Chart

ID: Q242481

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Visual Studio, Enterprise Edition 6.0

SYMPTOMS

When resizing a Visual Studio Analyzer Chart Window to hide the Event list, the Chart is hidden instead.

RESOLUTION

  1. If the IDE or Chart View window is not maximized, maximizing the IDE or Chart View window causes the Chart to be redrawn in the newly acquired client area.

  2. If the IDE or Chart View window is maximized, drag the right side of the IDE or Chart View window frame to the left until the chart is exposed.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open an Event log.

  2. From the View menu, select Analyzer and then Chart.

  3. To hide the Event list, drag the splitter that separates the Event list from the Chart to the left and release it.

NOTE: These steps assume that you have a window (such as Project Explorer or Properties) docked to the left hand side of the IDE. If no window is docked, the Event list may be hidden as expected but cannot be restored without closing and opening a new Chart.
