Err Msg: DLL Initialization Failure: Initialization of the Dynamic Link Library User32.dll Failed

SYMPTOMS

During your Windows NT session, the following error message may be displayed:

<ServiceName> - DLL initialization failure Initialization of the
dynamic link library c:\windows\system32\user32.dll failed. The process
is terminating abnormally.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Cheyenne Arcserve version 6.x is installed on the computer.


RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click the Services icon.


  3. Click Cheyenne Arcserve, and then click Startup.


  4. Click Manual, click OK, and then click Close.


This change does not take effect until the computer is restarted.
