16-Bit Programs Can Run on Removable Disks in Windows 2000

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and earlier versions, 16-bit programs do not run the Windows NT Virtual DOS Machine (NTVDM) subsystem from a removable- media drive that contains the boot partition and system files. If you try to start a 16-bit program on such a drive, you receive the following error message:

Config.nt. Hidden console of WOWVDM config.nt the system is not
suitable for running MSDOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
In Windows 2000, you can run 16-bit programs from removable disks that contain the boot partition and system files.
