SYMPTOMSIf you run Winnt32.exe to install Windows 2000 and your computer does not shut down properly when you are prompted to reboot, Chkdsk.exe runs. If Chkdsk needs to make any changes, you need to reboot again. At this point, you may receive the following error message: This error message may be confusing because Setup has not really run yet. Setup then restarts and copies files to your hard disk again. CAUSE
This behavior occurs if Chkdsk finds something on the hard disk that requires a reboot. Setup recognizes that a reboot is required, notifies you, and then aborts the setup process.
