SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Add Printer Wizard to install a shared printer in Windows 2000, you are prompted whether or not you want to install support for additional platforms. If you choose to install support for Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows 98, you are prompted to provide a path to the location of the printer drivers. If you browse the Windows 95 or Windows 98 CD-ROM, the printer driver files are not found. If you insert the printer manufacturer's driver disks, Setup continues. CAUSEThe Windows 2000 Add Printer Wizard does not support extracting drivers from the Windows 95 or Windows 98 cabinet (.cab) files. RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, extract the appropriate printer driver files from the Windows 95 or Windows 98 CD-ROM before you run the Add Printer Wizard.
