Cannot Read Help File for Pro Pool 3D

SYMPTOMS

When you open the Help file for Pro Pool 3D version 1.0 by Head Games Publishing, the file (Manual.rtf) is opened in Notepad and the contents are unreadable.

CAUSE

Pro Pool 3D opens the Rich Text Formatting (RTF) Help file with Notepad. This is inappropriate because Notepad cannot correctly interpret RTF files. The RTF file is correctly associated in Windows 2000 with WordPad.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, open the Help file manually. Double-click the Manual.rtf file in the Pro Pool 3D installation folder to open the file in WordPad.

MORE INFORMATION

Notepad no longer has a file size limitation of 64 KB. Therefore, Windows 2000 does not offer to use WordPad instead of Notepad to open files larger than 64 KB in size.
