After you install Windows 2000 from CD-ROM, the Cdldr file appears in the root folder of the system partition.

When you start your computer from the Windows 2000 CD-ROM after installing Windows 2000, the startup routine searches for the Cdldr file in the root folder of the system partition. If the Cdldr file is found, the "Press any key to boot from CD" message is displayed for 3 seconds. If you press a key, Windows 2000 Setup starts. If you do not press a key, Windows 2000 starts normally.
