SYMPTOMSDuring Setup from a network share with the Typical Networking Settings option selected and DHCP, DNS, or WINS selected, you are prompted to change your address from dynamic to static. If you do so, Setup may stop responding (hang). CAUSEWhen you change your IP address, the connection from the old IP address is closed, and a new one is opened. During the changeover, network-based Setup may time out and hang. RESOLUTIONTo prevent this problem from occurring, change from a dynamic to a static address after Setup is finished. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Additional query words:
