CD-ROM Drive Does Not Appear in the Computer Management Snap-in

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to share a CD-ROM drive using the Computer Management snap-in, the drive may not be displayed.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if a CD-ROM is not in the CD-ROM drive.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, insert a CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, or use Windows Explorer to share the CD-ROM drive. To share the CD-ROM drive using Windows Explorer, right-click the CD-ROM drive, and then click Sharing.
