Users Prompted to Log On Even When GSNW or CSNW Is Disabled

SYMPTOMS

When you disable Gateway Services for NetWare (GSNW) or Client Services for NetWare (CSNW) by clicking to clear the appropriate check box in the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, users are still prompted to log on to a preferred server, default tree, and context.


RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, click Cancel when the Select NetWare Logon dialog box appears.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.
