ID: Q226055

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server

SYMPTOMS

After a Ghost image installation of Windows 2000 on a partition using the FAT32 file system is performed, Norton GhostWalker SID Changer 5.1 cannot gain access to the Windows 2000 installation. GhostWalker SID Changer 5.1 generates the following error message:

ERROR: No bootable NT installations detected on this machine

CAUSE

Norton GhostWalker SID Changer 5.1 was designed to support Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. Because Windows NT 4.0 does not support the FAT32 file system, Norton GhostWalker SID Changer 5.1 does not support FAT32.

MORE INFORMATION

The GhostWalker SID Changer 5.1 program is used after a Ghost image is copied to the computer, but before logging in. Its function is to change the computer name and System Identification (SID) before joining a domain to avoid conflicts with the computer that provided the clone image.
