Desktop Icons Do Not Use ToolTip Attribute Settings

SYMPTOMS

When you change the attributes for ToolTips on the Appearance tab in Display properties, the changes apply only to the taskbar and ToolTips in programs. The ToolTips for desktop icons (such as Network Neighborhood) use the color you select, but not other items such as the font, bold, or italic.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
