Paint and WordPad Documents Do Not Retain NTFS Extended Attributes

SYMPTOMS

If you open and then save a Paint or WordPad document that has NTFS extended document attributes (such as Title, Subject, Category, Keywords, Comments, Author, Source, Revision Number, and so on), the extended attributes are missing after you save the document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
