Pressing Scan Button Defaults to Microsoft Imaging

SYMPTOMS

When you push the scan button on your scanner after you upgrade your Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based computer to Windows 2000, Microsoft Imaging starts automatically, and Microsoft PhotoDraw is not available as an alternative program.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if PhotoDraw is not properly registered in Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, reinstall PhotoDraw.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows 2000.

MORE INFORMATION

This issue may not occur if you upgrade a Microsoft Windows 98-based computer to Windows 2000.
