SYMPTOMSWhen additional Windows 2000 files are required, you may be prompted to install the files from a location that is different from the location from which you installed Windows 2000. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if Windows 2000 was installed from a folder on the hard disk. Windows 2000 is designed to install additional files from the Windows 2000 CD-ROM or a network installation point. RESOLUTIONWARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that
may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor
can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SourcePathWindows 2000 uses this value to locate additional files.
