SYMPTOMSAfter you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 98/95-based or Microsoft Windows NT-based computer to Windows 2000, the "Bits per second" setting for your communication (COM) port reverts to the default setting. CAUSEThis issue occurs because individual port settings are not migrated during Windows 2000 Setup. RESOLUTIONTo work around this issue, manually configure the "Bits per second" setting.
