AM and PM Settings from Regional Options Tool Are Not Used on the Taskbar

SYMPTOMS

When you select a locale other than English (United States) in the Regional Options tool in Control Panel, you have the option to select the AM and PM symbols to be used on the Time tab. After you select the AM and PM symbols and quit the Regional Options tool, you are prompted to restart your computer. When the computer restarts and you log on, you may notice that the AM and PM settings are not used on the taskbar.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
