Adding Network Service Causes Fax Menu to Disappear

SYMPTOMS

When you add a Network Service using the Add/Remove Programs tool, the Fax menu may be missing from the Accessories menu.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the Add/Remove Hardware tool in Control Panel to reinstall the modem. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.



2. Double-click Add/Remove Hardware, and then follow the instructions on your screen to install your modem.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows 2000.
