Taskbar Size Changes with High Contrast Accessibility Option

SYMPTOMS

If you choose the Use High Contrast option on the Display tab in the Accessibility Options tool in Control Panel, the height of the tasbar doubles to accommodate the larger font size. When you clear the Use High Contrast check box, the taskbar does not return to the previous size.

RESOLUTION

Manually restore the taskbar to the previous size by dragging a border with the mouse.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
