  • Microsoft Windows NT Server version 4.0
  • Microsoft Windows NT Workstation version 4.0

SYMPTOMS

If you install Windows 2000 on a partition where an existing version of Windows NT 4.0 is already installed, when you boot into the previously installed version of Windows NT you may receive the following error message on a blue screen:

STOP: 0x0000000A (0x2E9C0E56, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x00000000) IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Windows 2000 requires a separate partition.

RESOLUTION

You should not install Windows 2000 on a partition that contains a different operating system. This includes previous versions of Windows NT.
