Name Change of Desktop Shortcut Is Not Displayed on Start Menu

SYMPTOMS

When you change the name of a shortcut on your desktop, the name change is not reflected when you view the item on the Start menu.

For example, when you create a Dial-Up Networking shortcut using the Make New Connection wizard, the Dial-Up Networking icon is displayed on the Start menu by default. If you rename the icon on the desktop, the name change is not reflected when you view the icon on the Start menu.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
