Cannot Install Windows CE Services 2.1 or Earlier in Windows 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you install Windows CE Services 2.1 or earlier on a computer running Windows 2000, you may be unable to set up Remote Access Services. If you are upgrading from Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, you may no longer be able to synchronize your Windows CE device with Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download Windows CE Service 2.2 or later from the manufacturer of your Windows CE device. For more information about downloading Windows CE 2.2 or later, visit the following Microsoft Web site and click ActiveSync 3.0:
