SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to connect with Serial Line Internet Protocol (SLIP) to a remote access server (RAS) that is configured to use Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), the Windows 2000 client does not connect and does not inform you of the incorrect configuration. CAUSE
Although Windows 2000 can only accept incoming RAS connections using PPP, it can be configured to make outgoing connections using either PPP or SLIP. RESOLUTIONVerify that your Windows 2000 client is configured to use the same protocol (PPP or SLIP) as the server to which it is attempting to connect. STATUSThis behavior is by design.
