Large Print Job on ECP Printer Port Causes Jump in CPU Usage

SYMPTOMS

When you print a large PostScript print job to an ECP printer port, CPU usage may jump to 100 percent.


CAUSE

The Spooler service uses all the available CPU resources while it renders and prints a large amount of data to an ECP port.


STATUS

This behavior is by design.
