Err Msg: Unable to Set New Owner on Filename

SYMPTOMS

When an Administrator tries to take ownership of a file, he or she may receive the following error message:

Unable to set new owner on "filename."
There is not enough space on the disk.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if a Quota Policy is set on the volume and the disk quota has been exceeded.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, configure the Quota Policy to not include the Administrators group or increase the quota size.


STATUS

This behavior is by design.
