SYMPTOMSWhen you start a Windows 2000-based computer with a bus mouse attached, the mouse may not function properly. CAUSEThis behavior occurs because Windows 2000 does not support the bus mouse. Therefore, the mouse is not detected or installed during Windows 2000 Setup. This applies to both "clean" and upgrade installations of Windows 2000. RESOLUTIONIf you upgraded the computer from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, you can use the following workaround. This method does not work if you performed a clean installation of Windows 2000. Note that using this workaround increases the time to boot the computer:
