ID: Q228103

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows NT Server version 4.0
  • Microsoft Windows NT Workstation version 4.0
  • Microsoft Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition version 4.0

SYMPTOMS

Calculator displays data incorrectly when you paste negative values into the display window.

For example, making a calculation producing a negative number (such as 1-2 = -1) displays the correct result. However, when you copy the result to the Clipboard and then paste the copied value back into the display window, the negative value becomes a positive value.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, paste the negative value into the display window and then press F9 to make the value negative.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
