Properties and Check Box for SAP Agent Service Are Unavailable

SYMPTOMS

After you install the SAP Agent service on a computer running Microsoft Windows 2000, you may notice that the check box to disable the service and the properties for the service are both unavailable.


CAUSE

This problem occurs because the check box indicates that the bindings for the SAP agent are not configurable by the user.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, uninstall the SAP Agent service. To do this:

  1. Right-click My Network Places, and then click Properties.


  2. Select the connection that contains the SAP Agent (that is, Local Area Connection), and then click Properties.


  3. Select SAP Agent, and then click Uninstall.



STATUS

This behavior is by design.
