Computer Reboots When Preparing a Drive for Deployment Using Syspart

SYMPTOMS

When you install Windows 2000 using Winnt32.exe with the /syspart switch, the computer automatically reboots after the file copy phase is finished.


RESOLUTION

To prevent this behavior from occurring, add the /noreboot switch to your command. For example

winnt32.exe /tempdrive:d /syspart /noreboot

where d is the drive being prepared for deployment.


STATUS

This behavior is by design.
