SYMPTOMS

When you try to scan a new image document and then try to import it into WordPad, you may receive the following error message:

This action cannot be completed because the '' program is not responding

CAUSE

This problem occurs because WordPad times out before the TWAIN data source is loaded.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base when it becomes available.
