Laptop Lid May Not Wake Computer from Hibernate State

SYMPTOMS

When you configure a Toshiba Portege 7000 or 7010CT laptop computer to hibernate when you close the lid, the computer may not wake from hibernation when you open the lid. This behavior may occur on other models of Toshiba laptop computers as well.

CAUSE

This issue is a result of the way the computer's BIOS handles waking from hibernation mode when you open the lid.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, press the power button on the computer to wake it from hibernation mode. When the computer is hibernating, pressing the power button awakens it.
